Situation at Sullivan's
Ah! The Baby Bjorn would be perfect! We could test it for the first time before I tried it in the grocery store or Target. Well, by the time we finally figured out how to put it on, it was almost dark. At last we discovered the proper way to wear it, and we started on our way to the beach. It was a beautiful evening, and the sand felt wonderful between our toes!
What didn't feel so great though was the sudden splash of spit up on my chest. Since I had Eliza facing me, my shirt was completely covered and she was completely covered as well. Of course, I had forgotten the burp cloth - silly mistake. We got a few minutes on the beach while Eliza was licking up her spit up...very appetizing!
Maybe next time we will remember to bring the burp cloth...
Sunday Picture Time
Andrew and I decided to have a mini photo shoot before church on Sunday. Eliza was dressed in her Sunday best and looking very cute. We managed to get in some really great shots before she projectile vomited all over her dress. Go figure...
Speaking of Sunday best...
The next Sunday we put Eliza in her car seat (of course wearing her Sunday dress). We arrived at church (3 minutes from our house) only to find that Eliza spit up EVERYWHERE! She was covered in spit up, and there was a rather large pool of spit up in the bottom of her car seat. So, Eliza didn't wear her precious dress to church, and obviously there is no need to dress to impress!
Not Loving the Lake...
Too Cold Daddy!
We decided that it was time for Eliza to test the waters of the neighborhood pool. While we knew she wouldn't be thrilled, we gave it a go. We dressed her up in her summertime outfit, and away we went.
As you can tell from the pictures, she was not a happy camper. I think we may give her more time to adjust to the scary pool.
Crazy Plans
If you know Andrew and me, you know that we like to tackle a lot of things at one time. Two years ago, I graduated from Clemson, started a new job, got married, and moved into our house within a couple of months. Then, Andrew was studying for the Bar when we found out that I was pregnant. Finally, we decided to have a baby and move to a new city at the same time. What crazy ideas!!
In May, Andrew and I moved to Charleston with our two-month old baby. It was quite an ordeal to pack up our house and take care of Eliza at the same time. Thankfully with much help, we managed to make it happen. We are thrilled to be back in Charleston and be closer to our families. We are looking forward to many fun experiences in Charleston!

Silly Billi Rubins
The day after we returned home (Monday), we found out that Eliza had jaundice and would need to wear a Billi blanket. With her early delivery and bruised head, she was likely to have jaundice, but unfortunately, her Billi Rubin levels were just a little too high.
Our pitiful little "glowworm" had to wear this blanket 24/7 for three days. We pushed through the stress though, and we were able to return the blanket. Those three days may have been the longest of my life!
What have we done???
On a beautiful Easter Sunday, we brought Eliza home to our house in Columbia. She was perfect - peaceful and sweet. Although there were some fears when we first arrived home, I thought we could handle this new human being in our lives. It couldn't be that hard, right?
HA!
The first night home was quite a disaster, leaving Andrew and me wondering what had we done. She cried all through the night, and we kept passing her back and forth trying to soothe her. Needless to say, we didn't get a bit of sleep. We soon learned that this parenting thing might not be that easy after all...
Fortunately, our precious girl did return to her sweet, somewhat sleeping state!

Welcome to the World!
Join the Crowd...
Well, I have decided to join the blogging world...
I have a lot of catching up to do since Eliza is now 3 months old, but I will try my best. I wish you many happy readings of Eliza's firsts, seconds, and everyday experiences.
